Pick up truck lands on car in SH 105 East crash in Montgomery County, TX

Just after 7 pm North Montgomery County Fire was dispatched to a reported major accident in which a truck landed on top of a vehicle. Units arrived on the scene and immediately started calling for additional ambulances. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office held the scene for DPS to arrive and investigate the crash. A female driver was traveling east on SH 105. As she approached the intersection she went into the center lane to turn into the gas station parking lot. In front of her, still in the eastbound moving lanes of traffic were three other vehicles and an oversize load with an escort. It is unknown if she turned left, unable to see westbound traffic. As she made her turn a westbound Dodge Ram pickup slammed into the passenger side of the Nissan Elantra. This caused the Nissan to spin and caused the Dodge truck to land on top of it. When firefighters arrived all the victims had gotten out of the vehicles. There were three occupants in the Nissan. All were transported to the hospital. One of those in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries but refused transport. His passenger was transported to the hospital in stable condition. A dog in the Dodge was uninjured. Adamiks Wrecker removed the Dodge truck from the scene. Barsch removed the Nissan from the scene. DPS was able to view security camera video from a business and was able to watch the entire crash.

62-Year-Old killed in high speed crash on Mt. Plesant Road north of FM 1097 in Montgomery, TX

At 2:45 pm Monday DPS was dispatched to a crash on Mt. Plesant Road just north of FM 1097 in Montgomery. An MCHD District Chief was first to arrive on the scene and found the driver of one of the vehicles deceased. The other driver was uninjured. According to DPS, the 1997 Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed going north on Lake Mt. Plesant. As the driver entered a curve a few miles north of FM 1097 he went into a side skid. That skid took him across the southbound lanes of the narrow roadway. A Toyota Tundra pickup was traveling south and was unable to avoid the collision. The Toyota slammed into the passenger side of the Honda. The driver of the Toyota pickup was uninjured. Mt. Plesant Road was closed for over 3-hours as DPS investigated the crash. The impact drove the Honda through the fence of a horse ranch at that location. The call originally came in as two-vehicles racing. However, DPS investigators are not sure if that was the case but say just the Honda Accord involved in the fatal was driving too fast for the conditions. A resident down the street was out getting his mail at the time of the crash. He said the Honda was northbound at a high rate of speed either chasing or racing a blue Mustang with a white stripe. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors removed the 62-year-old male from the scene. The road reopened at 6 pm.
