New Caney, TX – According to click2houston.com, a runaway tire killed a motorist, injured a passenger and caused an accident that injured a family of four.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., Carol Hardy and her 17-year-old son were on their way home when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction lost its wheel. The wheel went over a concrete barrier and crashed through the windshield. Ms. Hardy was killed instantly. The son was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
After the runaway tire struck the woman’s vehicle, it caused her to lose control and rear-end a vehicle carrying a father and his three children. The family was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The accident happened on the Eastex Freeway near Roman Forest.
